Clumsy Cake

Work in ft, bk, and both lps to emulate frosting as an option.
Form an adjustable ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in ring, join - 6 sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st, join - 12 sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, [sc in next st, 2 sc in next] 6 times, join - 18 sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, [sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next] 6 times, join - 24 sc.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc around in bk lps, join - 24 sc.  
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in next 5 sts, hdc in next 15, sc in last 4 sts - 24 sts.
Rnds 7-8: Repeat rnd 6.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc around, join - 24 sc.
Rnd 10: Ch 1.  Working in ft lps, [sc in next st, 2 sc in next] 12 times, join - 36.
Rnd 11: Ch 1, sc around, join - 36 sc.
Rnd 12: Ch 1, sc around in bk lps, join - 36 sc.  
Rnd 13: Ch 2, hdc in next 4 sts, sc in next 18, hdc in next 14, join in top of second ch - 36 sts.
Rnds 14-15: Repeat  rnd 13.
Rnd 16: Ch 1, sc around, join - 36 sc.  Continue to rnd 17 if making a sachet or fasten off and follow Bottom.
Rnd 17: Ch 1, sc around in bk lps, join - 36 sc. Fasten off.

Bottom
With white, form an adjustable ring. Follow rnds 1-4 of cake.  Rnd 5: Ch 1, [sc in next st, 2 sc in next] 12 times, join - 36 sc.  Do not fasten off.

Assembly of Cake and Bottom
With bottom’s ws facing out and working through both thicknesses, sl st bottom to bk lps of last rnd of cake.  Stuff moderately before closing.

Icing (as shown)
Facing the bottom of the cake, join with a sc in any free lp of top tier (rnd 5).  *Sc around, join for a smooth finish.  Fasten off.  
Repeat * for bottom tier (free lp of rnd 12 or 17).
